PARIS - The headquarters of Goldman Sachs Group in Paris was placed under police surveillance on the night of April 1 following bomb threats believed to be from an Iranian group, Le Parisien newspaper reported.

The bank was contacted by US authorities advising increased vigilance, according to the French daily. A source close to the matter told Le Parisien an Iranian group was threatening to use explosive devices to attack the building.

Paris prosecutors said no suspicious items had been found at the site on the morning of April 2, according to the newspaper.

The threats come just days after a bombing attempt was foiled near the office of Bank of America in the French capital. French authorities have charged and jailed an adult and three teens age 16 to 17 over the incident.

A spokesman for Goldman Sachs declined to comment on the matter. Officials at the Paris police headquarters did not immediately respond to requests for comment. BLOOMBERG
